 Roy Rogers
Double Sets
 |
 |
 |
 |
| w/ Gold Hubley Cowboys |
 |
 |
The "King of the Cowboys" had
quite a few companies manufacturing Cap Guns for him. So it is only natural
that companies would also make entire sets of Cap Guns and Holsters for him
too.
Presented here we have some really fine examples of Roy Rogers
sets featuring different brands of guns for your pleasure.

you're going to tote your shootin' irons, then you had probably better put

Here is a
super Leslie-Henry Roy Rogers 49er Cap Gun. This one is from the 1950-1955 era
and as we can see, comes with an excellent blue box. You will notice that this
box is sealed in plastic for protection. It is probably filled with foam also,
to hold its shape. Good idea!
 Many thanks to
David Denton of The Antique Cowboy for these
photos!

Here's another "Shoot'n Iron" box that would have come with
this particular version of the Cap Gun. You will notice that it says,
"Manufactured by George Schmidt Manufacturing, Inc. Los Angeles,
California."
Special thanks to Allan Coyle for this contribution! |

All you have to do is to take a look at the hammer on thie "Cap
Gun" and you will notice that it is different from others. This one is in MINT
shape!
Many thanks to David Denton of The Antique Cowboy.

Here's a very nice MINT "SHOOTIN' IRON" Cap Gun by Kilgore
that is still in the box. One like this is extremely valuable. It has a
revolving cylinder and nice engraving. Notice Trigger on the grips.
