Jamie Linford went to a special amount of trouble
to photograph Tom Winge's collection. He also told me that it is pronounced:
"WIN jeeee." Of course, me being what these "Super Collectors" would consider a
neophyte, I don't know enough about a lot of these to properly say much about
them. And besides, there are so many photos, that I think that I'm just going
to let some of the photos speak for themselves. Tom called me on the phone and
explained many of them. You might notice that 100% of Tom's collection is
cast-iron. I asked him why and he said it was just from his time.
Sadly, I was
informed that Tom passed away on May 5th, 2012. We of the Cap Gun Community are
really going to miss one of our greatest collectors. |

Roy Rogers boxes and one is
a two-piece and the other is a one-piece. There are six Long Tom Rogers, with
two that have his name engraved. Holsters, spurs, badges, etc.
A little of Tom Mix on the top and Gene Autry on the bottom. With
Keyston Brothers Gene Autry double holster set mint in the box.
More Tom Mix and Gene with cuffs, etc.
These are all "elastolin" and it is a sawdust material from
Germany and Austria before World War II. They are Cowboys and Indians and there
are about 150 of them.
Here's a Minute Man with the box. The box is much rarer than the
gun. There's a Smoky Joe on the right. On the left in the brownish colored
holster is the Law West of the Pecos model. Very rare. The guns to the left of
the white holsters are Kenton Lasso 'em Bills. The one in the middle is the
short-barreled Lasso 'em Bill, which is very hard to find.
